One of Mercer Island’s best kept-secrets, the diminutive neighborhoods of Fruitland and El Dorado are a sweet little slice of Island living. Even though they are close in proximity to I-90, people touring Mercer Island wouldn’t navigate purposefully to this area unless they were looking for the City Boat Launch, which is in El Dorado. Both neighborhoods do possess some shared waterfront access properties.
The Fruitland Landing is one of the developed street ends on Mercer Island that literally end at the lake and possess amenities like park benches and lake access. Covenant Shores, a local retirement home, is also located in this area. A lovely 12 acres facility which includes independent residential living, assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing, Covenant Shores is billed as a “haven for nature lovers.” In 2012, Covenant Shores was one of thirty-nine facilities listed on the US News & World Report Nurse Home Honor Roll, due to its 5 star status across all three evaluated areas.
